The merchant cost varies greatly with the location, the service used for processing and the volume of transactions. We are currently paying 15¢ per debit transaction and 25¢ plus 2¾% of the total for credit transactions. Debit transactions are in our account within 1 hour of the actual transactions and credit transactions can take as long as 7 days to be transferred to our account. If you want to call a debit transaction a "credit" transaction, I will disagree totally. Yes, it is handled by the same company, but the similarity ends there and the transaction is completely different, NOT a credit transaction.
