Many of the travel stops have separate RV lanes, and I use them if present. I have used the truck lanes a number of times without incident. They often do not have card readers - run your card into the truckers desk. Pull forward and clear the pump area before you go in to settle up.
Do note that the truck lanes will have master and slave pumps. You may need to activate the master pump, place the nozzle on the ground, and go to the other side to fill your RV. It is not difficult, but you might check it out before you get in line, so you will look like a pro.
The truckers may have had feelings about my RV being there, but they have never expressed it. All were professional, most were friendly, and some (like the guy who explained the slave pump to me while he was waiting for me to finish!) have been very helpful.
I have seen the truckers' lanes waiting three deep, but that is unusual.
