Truckers almost always friendly if they understand you have an issue and are still at the island. However they do (and should) get testy when one does not follow the courtesy rule of not pulling forward when finished fueling.
I even had a very nice trucker come over and help my wife wash the front windshield while I was fueling. Within thirty seconds of finishing fueling I have pulled up to the forward short parking white line.
Be nice to the truckers as they can really get you out of a bind at times. I know as I have experienced it over the years.
