Funny stuff happens

Here's mine. I'm a single RVer, driving a 'C and pulling a Jeep toad. Although I have a bathroom on board, I have to park somewhere first. I pulled into a Wally World and parked in the back row since I need two pull through spaces. While I was using the bathroom, I heard noise next to me. When I finished, I looked out the side window. There was a guy that had rigged his Class 'B' with side doors open and a shower curtain attached between them. Buck naked, taking a shower.
I briefly considered blowing my horn while pulling away, but I waited until he was finished and dressed. I'm not sure it would have bothered him.

Even though it didn't seem funny at the time, I now laugh about a time we were tent camping on the beach in Galveston, Texas many years ago. We were in an old canvas tent that used aluminum spring poles to hold it up. Wind blows pretty constant on the beach and the first night we were there, one of the tent poles squeaked endlessly, not letting me get a wink of sleep for most of the night. I swore I was going to get some WD-40 the next day and end that. Of course, come the next day, we were busy having fun and it just slipped my mind. Come bedtime, the pole still squeaks and I'm about to rip my hair out! Instead, I reach over and shake that squeaky pole. Of course, that changed it's position just enough that it totally quit squeaking!!! My kiddos thought it was hilarious and after having a "slow steam", so did I. Had a great nights sleep and got to take my daughter on a fishing trip the next day (that's another funny story I'll save for some other time;)).

A while back we were at the beach in Texas, early morning, large park lot with no one else in it. parked and took a walk along the beach, gone about an hour returned and there was a second car in the lot. That driver had parked so close to me I could not get my drivers door open. Not funny at the time, but now it is. some people!

One afternoon I was laying in the back bedroom of our old TT reading when a threesome of rather large people pull across and down from us a couple of spaces in with a new popup. Sensing some free entertainment, I take notice...
They get out and fumble with the hookups enough that it peaks my interest (family was gone and I was bored..). Then they start working on putting the bunk ends out. They seem to be arguing about how it all works and are making gestures while the lady of the group firmly plants her hands on her hips.
One of them goes inside and really puts his weight into shoving the bed out.
So much so that's it launches it past the tongue and partially onto the ground. Our windows were open and I had an involuntary HAH!!! escape me before I could catch myself. They heard me and swiveled their heads around looking for source of this outburst. Fortunately my TT had privacy screening over the back windows and they couldn't tell where it came from. Plus I ducked!
I made sure I didn't go outside before a few other camper showed up.

We were in the CG right at Devils Tower sitting out under the awning using high power binoculars watching climbers on the side of the tower.

A small car pulls up right at our site, 4 girls get out, sit down at the pic-nic table in our site and begin eating lunch.
They look over at us so we wave. (Figured what the heck---they would eat and be on there way)

20 minutes later they get up, clean up table and place everything in a paper bag.
Then they proceed to start unpacking their tent, cooler etc. and start to set up.........

Step over to 'explain' when I find out none speak english....tourists from Germany.
I remember just enough of German from college to help them find a CG site for their tent


Not the first time .....tenters have attempted to set up on our CG sites.

While on a non camping trip, we pulled into a surf shop to get some sunscreen in our white Honda Accord. I stayed in the car while my wife and son went into the store. A middle aged woman started to walk toward the car, on the passenger side. I paid no attention to her until the back door opened and she got in, shut the door and proceeded to look through her big shopping bag which was on her lap. I turned around and asked "Can I help you"? She looked at me, turned white as a ghost and said "Oh My God"!, quickly exited my car, then went over to the row in front of me, and got into the back seat of the same model white Honda Accord.

Similar story from a long time ago:
While grocery shopping, my friend's mother parked AND LOCKED her Ford station wagon. She went in to shop. When she came out, someone was sitting in her Ford wagon with their key in the ignition, but the ignition wouldn't turn. The friend's mother opens the door and both she and the other woman were very surprised. The other woman had the same model and color of Ford wagon and her key fit the door, but wouldn't start the car.

We were tent camping in California and we were listening to howling wolves getting closer and closer. Eventually they were right outside the tent and were sniffing at the tent a few inches from our heads. The rangers came by and ran them off. My ex refused to go tent camping again after that and we bought our first TT.

I remember that happening to my mother when I was about 10. We had a '59 Ford and she came out of the grocery store and jumped into the car and her key wouldn't fit. She started looking around and noticed some stuff inside the car that didn't belong to us. We quietly got out of the car and went looking for ours.

Here's one from my dad, who passed away in 2014. We learned to love camping from him.

Once he retired, he and mom got a Class C, a utility trailer with a WOOD PLANK floor (this will be important later), and a honda goldwing to put in the trailer.

They traveled all over. Dad loved to pick up old firewood from other campsites after campers left, so he would not have to buy any. One day, he picked up firewood, put in the trailer, and off they go. Soon, a deputy sheriff stops him, and they proceed to put out a huge fire in the trailer. Apparently, he admitted to picking up firewood that still had a SMALL smolder to it, and of course the wind made fire, and well, Dad lost the trailer and the goldwing.

Loved Dad, but never let him live that one down! That was some expensive free firewood.
