When staring up the blower will come on for about 15 to 30 seconds before the furnace ignites. IMO the builders are shooting for the minimum required size ducting. Then any restriction becomes inadequate venting. I think mine calls for 24 sq inch duct so natually 12 x 2 should be fine on paper :R

Very true… check your installation/owner’s manual it will require different amounts of air volume for different size furnaces it may dictate and the number of outlets downstream to…
I’m not completely sure the mfg.’s read the instructions even…
