Also: sounds like temp high limit cycling. My heater worked well for several years. Then began cycling, flame would shut down with blower running and then flame returned. Found some underlayment fabric had dropped down and was blocking the duct from the heater. The high temps had also warped the blower wheel. I could see just a corner of the fabric with a light and a mirror in the duct. (removed registers.) But my airflow was noticeably decreased. Well out of warranty so I removed the furnace and repaired the duct and the blower.
Anyway, does not sound normal, try out your warranty.....
