Furniture

Specifically, chairs. My Class C has a spot which was intended for a chair, and that's been removed and replaced by a low cabinet. I'd like a chair. The RV furniture from places like Camping World seems both ugly and overpriced. Has anyone installed an ordinary armchair, maybe swiveling, and not spent upwards of $600? Other than somehow securing it so it doesn't go mobile at the wrong time, what are the issues?

Thanks!

  • Lazy Boy has the removable backs to make it easier to get through doors.
  • Try Levitz furniture in Tucson. They have Lane recliners. Just make sure to measure and make sure it will go through the door. Also LazyBoy recliners are great and they do make a small one. They are not cheap but you can find them on sale for less than $500. Also try Colaw RV Salvage in Carthage Missouri. They sometimes have used recliners as salvage for low prices or they do sell new ones at discounts. You will either have to pick it up or pay shipping which increases cost.
  • Salvation Army--Recliners, rockers for $30-$50. Going to get one in next couple of weeks to go in where the dinette is. I sure wouldn't spend a fortune.
  • Measure, measure, measure! Make certain it will somehow fit thru the door and will fit in the allocated space. Also, where will it sit when you pull in the slides if you have any? It can be an expensive lesson if one of these things torpedo's your purchase! We have bought several pieces of furniture and find the quality vs price much better with "household" furniture than it is with RV specific stuff.
