Gas detector saved my bacon... Whoa!!! I'm Thankful!

I have done the same myself. Amazing how easy those knobs can get turned without realizing it. Had the screaming sound too and too a minute to figure what was causing it.
Now we pay more attention as we have a butcher block cover on the stovetop and store all our junk on top and hardly ever use it as we cook mostly on the Campchef outside.
