Gas detector saved my bacon... Whoa!!! I'm Thankful!

I was putting transmission fluid in my RV and spilled some on my hot exhaust pipe (you have to add it while the engines running). The smoke it created put my propane detector into alarm mode for hours afterward until all the spilled trans fluid finally evaporated from the exhaust pipe. I guess the system I have mainly just detects VOC's and isn't propane specific. Good to know that it works though.
