Our stovetop has electronic ignition and even if the knobs are turned, the gas does not flow. They are also located on the top of the stove so we are less likely to turn them on accidentally. We have a European style stove top that was an option when we had our 5th wheel built. Cannot have an RV oven with this sort of set up though. Has a permenantly attached glass topper that just flips up when the stove is in use and also acts as a back splash. Too bad RVs do not come with all the safe stuff as standard equipment.
