Gas grill question

I have a Jayco MH with the gas grill that attaches to the side of the unit and connects directly to the on-board propane tank. I would like to use the grill AWAY from the MH on a picnic table etc. I need to get some kind of extension hose to make that happen. Is this grill considered to use low pressure or high pressure? I already have the short hose, I just need some kind of way to extend the hose 10 - 15 feet way from the unit. Anyone who has used one of these grills before and can give me info on how well they work would be appreciated.

  • Purchased the parts at Tractor Supply. If you are handy you can do it yourself. If not I am sure someone at your local RV shop or gas supplier can help you out. When setting up make sure the gas only goes through one regulator.

  • It should be a low pressure unit if the grill doesn't have a regulator attached to it. If the grill has a regulator, then it is probably "T"d into the propane system before the coach's regulator and is taking the high pressure propane directly from the "T" at the tank. Many sources for extension hoses with the appropriate quick connect fittings already applied.

Here's where I get my propane "pieces parts":

If you look at the listing, they have hoses up to 10' long and I actually have several and they can be connected together. The longer the run, the more pressure drop you'll see, but, my grill gets more than hot enough, for most cooking, even running 24' away from the 5er...
  • I just don't want to haul around extra weight and use extra room for the portable tank when I have the available propane connection already on the unit. I may have to do that anyway if I cannot find a suitable hose.

Why not just get a small propane tank (5 lbs, etc.) and put the grill anywhere you want to?

    Agree....
