FWIW, for those that use the USAA Limitless Cashback Visa (2.5 percent cashback) "Truck Stop Transactions" are not a "qualifying purchase". USAA customer service cannot clarify whether that applies to fuel purchases at the pump, in-store purchases, or both.

Little disappointed to hear this since we purchase most of our diesel at truck stops during our cross-country travels.

Something to think about (I gas up at Kroger in the Summer time, Buy Grocries, get discounts 10C per 100$ or 10C per 50$ on weekends)

Gas prices in the US peaked at an average price of $4.17/gallon (nation wide higher in many places) in August of 2008.. Starting in 2009 they dropped and continued droppign till they were around $2.00/gallon.. THey are climbing again.

with pen fed I have the credit card that gives a 5 percent discount on any fuel purchases at the pump, no limit on amount of fuel. The discount is then credited to my account at the end of the month and hence subtracted from the balance due every month.

card must be swiped at the pump for the discount. If I have any other discount non credit cards, like Kroger etc. I use that card then insert the pen fed for the purchase. But this only works if the credit card is last card inserted.

Sounds much better than the Hook discount card you have to pay in 30 days. They know people will mess up and forget to pay it.

Yep. Once you do the RV PLUS Card, the pump will automatically start and will not allow any further cards to be used.

Beemer is correct. If you're using the PFJ/GS Charge Card, the discounted amount is directly debited from your checking account. There is no option for additional credit card discounts. Like rgatijnet1, we use our GS Swipe & Save card for the 5 cent per gallon gas discount, and pay at the pump with our PenFed CU Visa Card 5% per gallon additional cash rebate. It all adds up...

I doubt you can stack the Good Sam Charge Card discount and the Good Sam Membership Card discount.

The best deal by far is the GS Membership Card together with a rewards credit card. My PNC card gives me a 4 percent reward on all fuel purchases at any station.

Think about it, 4 percent is a heck of a lot more than 5 cents per gallon. The GS Charge Card is worthless in my opinion.
