Yup, happens to me quite often too. I get right behind them, as close as possible put it in park, and then apply a little pressure to the peddle, ramping up the diesel. The rumble, rumble, rumble of the diesel engine highly annoys them. I get dirty looks of course. But it's my right to site there too, just as it was their right to choose any pump they wanted. So the more they glare, the slightly louder my rumbely diesel engine gets. I think they get the idea after that! They usually zoom out of the gas station.... only wish a police car was sitting there, but that's never happened yet!
When I have the trailer in tow and that happens, they zoom in and just have to get to the only diesel pump, it really intimidates them. What's even better is when the gas tank caps or on opposite sides of the vehicles and we sit there facing each other. When that happens, especially with the camper in tow, I deliberately pull up in such a way they HAVE to back out. Oh, that really pi$$es them off! But they also get the idea!
