I have had a police car pull in front of me and stop at the gas/diesel pump, when there was a perfectly cromulent gas only pump 20 feet further forward. I stepped out and politely explained to him that my toad was blocking traffic through the station and I could not back up and go around him. He gave me a dirty look and without a word got back in his vehicle and pulled forward. Until I got out of town I was afraid I would be pulled over for contempt of cop or similar crime
At another time I was in my gas jeep (but not at the diesel/gas pump) when I saw at the outside pump a large diesel truck trying to get to the pump and twice in a row he was cut off. When the second person was about to drive off I stepped over into to the next person who was about to cut him off again and asked him if he would yield to the truck and take the place where I was pulling out. He politely agreed.
