One of my least favorite things about RVing is getting fuel. Of course we use the BIG truck pumps as we couldn't fit in the small diesel car pumps.
There is a sign at most stations in the truck area to pull forward after fueling to let the truck behind us to pull in and start filling. We have duel fills so I can fill up pretty quick even though we hold 230 gallons of fuel. The most I've put in is about 150-160 gallons. The high-flow truck pumps put a gallon in every 4 seconds. With both fills going, it doesn't take too long.
Then, I have to fill the DEF tank every 4th fill up (16 gallons). Now, that pump I hate. I've only had one tank in the last two years that work correctly, otherwise, they are so S-L-O-W!! There is that very narrow point on the handle that will allow flow, it clicks off constantly. My hand hurts after a while holding to that exact point on the handle.
Mainly, big-rig drivers seem to be rather patient. I know that they are working, I'm retired, so try my best to get out of their way.
Safe travels,
MM.
