Be sure to make sure one the 'Companion". It has the 30A plug, and makes for a better combination.
And I do agree with her, if you rarely boondock, or rarely have plug in electrical service. But if you do boondock, then your batteries will not last all that long. Forget any high draw A/C appliances. You only have 12V. Pretty much limited to Lights, Water Pump, Slide outs, and such. No Television, Microwave, A/C, etc.
Maybe take her boondocking on a hot summers weekend. There will not be any 110V appliances. If she is OK with that, then no gen needed.
