If I had two generators such as the Honda 2000i which can be run in parallel. I would use one as primary and the other as secondary (less run time)
I would, however, make sure they both got at least a half hour a month on half load or more.
Why?
Eventually they will wear out.. All things do. Even me (As I found out a month ago when I had to go into the body shop for repair work).
And I'd rather not have them both wear out the same week.. If the primary fails.. The back up will have far fewer hours on it and thus in THEORY should be able to take over till I get the primary fixed or replaced.
