Generator security at Nascar event

Can you put it in the bed of a pick up? Try a few sheets of 4'x4' ply wood. Aim the exhaust away from your trailer!!
Generator noise at a NASCAR camping lot is normal!! Some loud some not,,By ten or eleven at night it quiets down and cools off enough you won't need it!!
But come 0800,, its back on!!!

I bet that either:
They come back later and clean it up
OR
The track sends them a bill and they pay for it.

Most tracks I'm familiar with would make sure they didn't come back if neither of those things happened.

Craziest thing I seen at a NASCAR event,,At Fontana a guy shows up almost every year on Thursday, brings a dump truck load of sand or dirt (depending on the theme), two years ago he dumped sand, brought in two very large potted palm trees,a tiki hut,lawn furniture and lighting (twinkle lights in the trees and strings of party lights)!!
His group shows up and circle the encampment with their vehicles and party hard!! Bikini's abound!!

One year he dumped dirt and laid down over 1500 square feet of sod!! With trees and out door furniture!!

Crazy??? Almost, whats crazy is,,, on Monday they leave all the stuff they brought,,sand,dirt,sod, trees, lights, furniture!! Just drive off!!! EVERY YEAR!!!

Ive been to a bunch of races in the past. Haven't been in probably 20 years though. Have been wanting to go to Darlington night race since they started running under the lights. Would love to go to Richmond some day.

Its all kind of last minute, winging it. Just called and got a space this week. Asked about generator, owner told me that generators are fine, midnight quiet time but if the manifold bolts weren't falling out of the generator than they probably wouldn't say anything even then. I do hope we are parked in such a way that the noise wont be a problem to my neighbors. I am NOT the type to be loud while camping, from radio, vehicle, conversation, slamming doors, dogs ect. Such noise bothers me when done by others so I do my best to not be that way myself.

If my noise bothers you next weekend at Darlington, come on over and give me a hard time. We will be able to go inside the air conditioned camper and have a few cold ones. Ill turn the radio up real load to drown out the noise.

Texas we lost a Honda Genny and a full cooler!!
Sonoma (Sears Point) we lost a golf cart over night,, found it the next day crashed into a gate!!

Common denominator????? These items were not chained down!! Keys were not in the vehicles and who ever took them got them started anyhow! The three atvs must have been winched up on the flat bed.

All Items were not covered by track insurance even though we were employed by the event coordinator or the track itself!!
Personal auto insurance and home owners did not cover the loss either!!

Recommendations: If you like it,, secure it, also somehow get to know your neighbors,, at Vegas we were gone 12 to 14 hours a day, The campers around us thought it was legit that they were loaded up and taken away they thought it was part of the track services!!
Check with your home owners or auto insurance,, you might be able to get a theft rider for the weekend!! I have since started doing that with my ATV if taken to the tracks,, its cheap and covers theft,,,but you do need to provide some sort of security for it IE: chain or cable it up!! Also,, TAKE pictures of it!!
Track security said there was nothing they could do about it even if the found them!! If we had a definite picture of the item they could call LE and inform them but with out it would just be speculation!!

Pretty good odds with the attendance on average around 100k (which is sadly down 30-40% but I don't want to even get started on that)

Better safe then sorry but as I said before, best large crowds Ive even been around drunk or sober. Heck, Id leave my wallet lying around 100K Nascar fans before Id leave my truck doors unlocked in front of my own house. Sad when you think about it.

Hope it works out OK for you.

You might be the only rookie without a quiet one.

Those with industrial generators usually plan ahead and get a space (or spaces) way in the back or near an outside fence to minimize the impact of their noise.

I figure "Live and let live.....to a point. At the point where I have my RV all closed up and can't hear my TV from 6 feet away because of my neighbors noise, I'm probably gonna have to say something.

Where will this "experiment" take place ?

My experience says, lock it up or put it away. Times are changing and it's not for the Better. Think ahead, and prepare. The predators are out there just waiting.

No, I'm not a Doomsday person, just wise. Plus we work hard for our things.

NASCAR is fun, enjoy it.
