Generator security at Nascar event

First time camping at a Nascar event is coming up. Staying at private campground(big field) right outside the track. High temps will be in the 90s so Im borrowing a generator from a friend to be able to have some air conditioning. Its a big generator, will take 2 people to pick up. I plan to chain or cable it to the bumper. Is that usually all the more security thats needed? Or should I lock it up in my suv while attending the race? I know that if someone wants it they will get it, weather chained up or in a vehicle. Just dont know if generator theft is a big problem. Thanks

  • You can secure it but in my opinion Nascar events and the fans are some of the nicest people and crowds Ive ever been around. My experience is they would be more likely to let you use theirs before someone took yours but obviously better safe then sorry.
