Anything you can get a bolt cutter on is toast, and that includes born heavy chain and cable of what ever type. One individuals suggestion of stickers or paint may have some value. I have stickers that match the unique graphics on the teardrop and if I were really concerned etch identification prominently into and expensive part to replace.
