Getting rid of Road Trip grill - replace with Weber Q?

We're both getting fed up with our Coleman Road Trip grill. It's a real POS (piece of stupidity). Cheap quality, a few too many bad design features and I'm getting tired of "folding" it up and stuffing it into our pass-through. Dang thing doesn't lay flat on the floor because of the way it's designed and I put a block of sponge foam at each end so it won't slide around which adds to making it harder to stow away.

I've read a LOT of folks recommending Weber. Which one to get? The 2-burner would be nice but it looks too big and heavy. A stand would be nice but are okay with using a picnic table and we have a long LP hose (would modify it to run after the regulator at the tanks). Hoping to be lighter than the Coleman if possible.

Is the 2-burner model 3200 maybe to big and heavy? Not sure if it can be used without the stand that the Weber's website shows.

Or... Is there a good or better alternative to a Weber? I seem to be getting older and am less and less inclined to want to bother with the weight and hassle of dealing with setting up and stowing away a grill. Lighter and smaller overall will be better.
  • We have the Weber Q1200 which besides being a bit on the heavy side it has served us well. The best portable grill we have owned that evenly cooks food. Highly recommend.

I believe the Weber Q1000 is the same unit less the fold-out work tables and thermometer.
  • The Weber Q is very popular around here. The 3200 is probably too big for your pass-through. Look at the smaller ones. The smallest one is great for two people. We bought the 200 when we were always taking kids with us. It's just the two of us now with occasional company.

I'm curious to see what else is out there also. I have looked at the Camp Chef box as we have a Camp Chef stove.
  • We have a Weber Q (single burner) our daughter gave to me as a Father's Day gift. We've been using it now for about 3 or 4 years and LOVE it!! It's light enough to handle, sets on the picnic table easily, if no picnic table I use the tailgate of our RAM. It's perfect for the two us.

Get the "Q", you won't be disappointed. Just my two cents.....
