The point I'm trying to make is that we aren't born knowing everything. When a subject gets complicated it takes more than "sounds good to me." Some things require a certain background or base of knowledge to understand. We all use experts we trust because we know they put in the effort to learn about something that we didn't. Doctors are the obvious example but there are plenty of others. Climate scientists know more about climate than we do. Period. Accepting that they are correct doesn't directly lead us to any particular course of action. We can do this, do that or do nothing. The path we take forward is up to us and is certainly subject for debate.
