First, consider the original link website and their political leanings.
Second, read the very last line of the article:
"But the idea that just 5 miles over the speed limit could result in a loss of your vehicle, is just extreme."
Third, SCOTUS has shot this down already. And will likely continue to shoot it down.
Fourth, it is a supposition. It is not a statement of fact that it is happening now, or will happen in the future. And the case cited was for a drug offense.
Fifth, if you're obeying the speed limit, there's no issue.
