Going "cheap" - a new "rant" - just wondering "why?"

The problem is that sometimes only cheap is what is for sale. Take tools for example. Want something that isn't off the Chinese slowboat? You won't find any hand tools in stores unless you buy used. Want a computer or smartphone? Nope.

I have dreamed about about getting with other people, buying a Lumex Avance 25. Then, making the hand tools we remember from pre-NAFTA, that didn't suck, from nuclear grade sintered steel. However, the cost of the tools would make MAC or Snap-On be considered cheap.
