Thread just took a nose dive ... I didn't want that to happen. Maybe time to close before it gets deleted completely.
And ... to answer Chowan question.
The MSRP on my Outback was $35,000. They gave us $8,000 for trade in on our previous camper. They knocked off some of the MSRP, but then added back on extended warranty, road side service for 5 years, and extended service plan for 5 years. When all the marbles finally fell out of the bag, the total financing was $35,000. Cheap? No, not at all. Good negotiating? Well, someone may argue over that. Was "I" happy with the end deal! Absolutely yes.
Its not cheap to negotiate a price. For some, it's a way of life. I lived in Israel for a year and you can't survive there without learning how to barter a price. There's nothing cheap about bartering a price, achieving the best price, striking a middle ground, a compromise with the seller. When you reach that point of agreement ... there's nothing "cheap" about that. It's actually a success! Two minds came together to an agreement which both are satisfied with. That's not being cheap. (Unless YOU think it is). It actually takes quite a talent to do this. Don't sell yourself short!
