Thing is though, it is your problem with the word that you are attempting to project onto others.
You can call me cheap, frugal, inexpensive, or thrifty, just be sure to call me to dinner! :B
In our politically correct world are we now banning the word "cheap":S.
Do we have have to soften the meaning and use nicer words like frugal and inexpensive.:h.
Really!?
I love it when people inject the "Politically Correct" argument. Especially in a post about language.
"Politically Correct" is just another way of saying POLITE, Sensitive to others situations and feelings, and not using inflammatory or coded language. Language and Words have power and we wield them that way. Consider a whole slew of racial epithets that are now just beyond the pale to write or mention in polite company...that is a matter of civility, concern for others and sensitivity.
If that makes me politically correct I wear it with honor.
And there is nothing in these posts that rises to the level of Political Correctness. Just like the OP's use of "Cheap" it's a misuse of the term.
It appears the OP doesn't like the term /word cheap.
He prefers a more polite word,. While cheap is generally not an inflammatory word. The OP is sensitive to the word and prefers we not use it. If I'm going to grant his request I will choose another word in an effort not to upset/offend him.
Sounds like political correctness to me!
