Going "cheap" - a new "rant" - just wondering "why?"

Here's a test to help one identify oneself for this behavior: Is it a Sin to not accept someone's castoffs if you know that they would just landfill the item if you don't accept it?

I have accepted castoffs if it is something I can genuinely use. I hate clutter and I'm always fighting the battle of accumulating stuff. So answering question I will not accept stuff I can not use. If my castoffs have any useful purpose I give them to charity.
