My debit card was locked down for buying Diet Coke from a vending machine that was is the same state. Called my credit union and they said any vending machine purchases automatically lock their cards. They have had a lot issue in the past with fraud.
My card was recently caught up in the Target fiasco. They locked it down when someone in California tried to purchase $1300 at a Home Depot. I was thankful this time they had my back. We will now have to call them if we go out of state and use our card. The price we must pay for safety.
