As far as disconnecting the drive train goes, all you would have seen is the service techs feet sticking out while he unbolted a universal joint and either tied up or removed the drive shaft. On a DP, he'd also have to either connect the tow truck's air to the coach's air brakes, or cage the coach's rear brakes to release them. Part of the delay was probably caused by having to manually retract the slides as well. That can be time consuming...
