Gooseneck towing of 5th wheel

I just bought a Keystone Montana 2004 3295K 5th wheel. It has a Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Hitch. Does anyone have experience towing a 5th wheel with this as opposed to traditional 5th wheel hitches? My truck is 2017 Ram 3500 with factory puck system.
Thank you

  • I've also used goosneck adapters without issue. Nothing over 14k in my case. I like the way they tow personally.

BTW: in spite of what you will read here in a short while from the anti gooseneck people, it is no more likely to damage your frame than any other hitch.
You may not have had any issues, but the geometry and physics involved would indicate that it will put a fair amount of stress on the part of the 5th wheel that can least cope with it.

Opinions and facts often don't coincide.

My brother-in-law has done it for several years with his smaller 5th wheel, but I would not recommend it for a large 5th wheel.
