Well, really what choice do I have? This is not the time to wallow in self-pity or get mired in anxiety and depression. I've got my meds on board and I'm researching like crazy. DH is too sick to research it himself, let alone understand what he's reading. I'm an old RN and he depends on me heavily to interpret what the doctors say. I tell him to stay off WebMD and let me handle the heavy lifting.
This is not the first crisis we've dealt with. DH has been hospitalized many times over the last 10 years with serious illness due to his condition. His pulmonologist gave him a prognosis in 2004 of just 10 years, so he's hanging in there and fighting for his life. He just had some emergency blood work drawn today and I'm praying its back to normal, so he doesn't have to be admitted. Praying that he can stay safe until we can get to Cleveland Clinic.
