Property crime has a very low priority in larger cities. They don't send out the CSI squad, don't cordon off the area and look for DNA or fingerprints and they don't spend much time reviewing security footage. They take a report and tell you to contact your insurance company. Restaurant parking lots are a prime target for thieves, they can easily note when someone enters the restaurant and know they won't be coming back out for an hour. Someone rifling though a closed motorhome is much less conspicuous than someone thrashing around a car. RVs are a nice target
