I Agree BC, that is often the fine print.. however the fact is when you hand them the keys you hand them the responsibility as well in many states.
It's THEIR RV till they hand you back the keys.
However I see the O/P posted that the dealer, in this case, seems to agree with me and is accepting responsibility and the only damage the O/P will suffer is a slight delay in the return of his RV.
True story: Man crashes car,, Takes to body shop. (This was back in the days of baked on enamel finish) they fix it, paint it and back it out of the paint booth to pull into the dry booth.. but forget to open the door.
Dear sir: There will be an additional slight delay,, No additional cost.
Then they fixed it again, Painted it AGAIN, this time they opened the door but since the drying booth was full temp parked it on the side of the road, a road that was basically a shared driveway but was still a named road.. The other business was the Sears Warehouse where I worked at the time.
Shuttle Truck (A local Moving and Storage company had the contract) Driver backing in (BOBTAIL) to pick up the trailer to haul it to the store a few miles away backed right into the car.
Dear Sir, there will be another slight delay.. Though this time there is an additinal charge you won't be the one paying it.. The trucking company will.
