Funny how scam gets immediately thrown out when the OP did not provide many details of the transaction LOL. Only in a forum.
If the dealer / dealers finance dept originated the financing, they are the agent for the finance provider and depending on same may be responsible for correcting any discrepancies that come up.
Don't rely on an internet forum for advice on matters such as this. Why would you not call the dealer back and ask them for a detailed explanation of what's up, instead of people you don't know on a forum who know nothing about the transaction. I doubt an established RV dealer is running a scam to fleece people using sales taxes as a means. That typically carries larger implications as it's tax fraud and most states have stiff penalties for that, especially for businesses.
