Government shutdowns are NEVER about saving money. They are childish arguments over little things, some about how to spend billions of dollars, and some about what you can or cannot do is the privacy of your own home, or other reasons.
Technically the government shutdowns have two separate causes. Sometimes a budget is not passed. Sometimes it is because the government runs out of authority to spend previously budgeted money. It takes three separate bills to actually allow federal government money to be spent.
They are about inconveniencing as many people as possible and blaming the other party.
As mentioned above, the people in Congress should have passed bills they have negotiated with the White House and the President should have signed them.
If we have a government shutdown - very simply every single member of the House and Senate has failed to do the job they are paid to do.
Everyone of them should be fired.
Remember that when you vote on their te-election in s few weeks. We are less than two months away from the party primaries in many states. If there is a government shutdown I will vote against every incumbent that I can.
