I like using google maps so I can get some overall idea of how I am going to be going. you can change the route easily. just click on the route and drag it over to the road you want to be on. I also really love using street view... I can put the little man near intersections that look like they might be confusing and see what they actually look like. Help keep me straight when I am driving. Once I do this, and print details (like how to get to campground from major highway), I will use the google map directions on my phone, but since I usually travel alone, it is comforting to have some backup knowledge (and printed info) of where I am going. taking the time to look at google maps satellite and street views help me feel much more confident in my driving too.
