Very happy with my Garmin Nuvi. I don't know if all Garmin now come with "lifetime map" updates, but I consider it essential.

Just remember that the #1 rule for any GPS is not to ever trust what it tells you.
I ran into on minor issue. GPS said "take next exit". Well that was a temporary exit/detour for construction. It took 2 "go-arounds" before I noticed another exit about 300 yards down the road.
I don't know what GPS you were using, but the better ones would have said to "Turn right on Exit 123 to Lincoln Avenue." My old Garmin Nuvi 1490 also has "Lane Assist" which shows an expanded view of the lanes and the exit ramp on multi lane freeways. Much easier to get on the right ramp.
I trust my GPS to do what it's programmed to do. That means that I know that it's programming is not perfect, so I keep my brain in gear too.
