When you change areas by several hundred miles a recalibration is required. Look at your manual or go online an get it on PDF. It is a very simple operation and involves hitting the right button and function and the GPS has to be turned about 3 revolutions slowly and it resets for your new location. I do it on my hand held Garmins everytime I go to a new distant area.
