Any grease work for the ball and where the trunnions meet the hitch head? Oil instead on the trunnions (if so, which kind)?Thanks!

I keep a small tube of white lithium grease in the back of my truck. I squeeze some out on the ball and the trunnion pivot points before I hook up.A 1-1/2 oz tube of Permatex White Lithium Grease cost me $3.59 at Advance Auto Parts. If I don't lose the tube, it will last me about 2 years.

Great question. My WDH creaks if I do not put something on it. I am currently experimenting with a dab of silicone painted on just cause I had it out doing something else. We shall see.

I have some high temp caliper grease laying around in the garage. Will that work for both locations?

If so, it will work.For this particular application it's probably overkill, as you can buy a whole 1lb gun tube of cheap lithium grease for about $2, and the little tube of caliper grease probably cost you $20, but it will work just as well.All you need is something "greasy." Crushed garnet will not work, for example.
