Greater Chicago RV show

This show is coming up in a few weeks. There is another in February in Rosemont that I've been to in the past. Just wondering if this one is worth going to.
  • The show is at the Schaumburg Convention Center. It isn't as big as Rosemont but it isn't small either. Convention Center is probably less that 5 years old and is in business almost every week. Looks like the dealers from Rockford and the Chicago area will be there. Dealers from farther out in the state will probably not be there. The same dealers will probably be at Rosemont so this could be a good show to start the shopping process that can be finished at Rosemont, if you want to wait that long. Bought at the Rosemont show last February but I'll still make this show because there is always something to see.
  • This show looks to be smaller than the show at Rosemont. I believe 6 dealers will be there. Here is a list of exhibitors. It will cost $10 to get in, but parking is free. Hey - it's January and it's inside. I'm planning on going.

No. The one in the city is geared more toward boating! Very few RV's were there when I went. Go to the one in Rosemont. Plus you don't need to deal with the city and it's traffic!

the McCormick Place show starts on Jan 12th and is mostly boats with some RVs. the Rosemont RV Show is in mid-February. there's a new RV show timed to compete with the McCormick Place show. It's being held in Schaumburg, IL.

Never heard of the Schaumburg show and I'm 1 town away!

There used to be one in Rockford, but the amount of RV's were limited! I'm guessing the Schaumburg one will be the same. I don't know where they will have it, unless it's at he Sears a center in Hoffman Estates!

Edit, I just looked it up. It is at the renaissance hotel and convention center across from wood field mall. Not sure where they would put any RV's, and there will be a very small amount. I would stick with Rosemont!

The Rockford one was at sportscore Not very big at all. I live between Chicago and Rockford.

  • I would also be interested in hearing about the Schaumburg show - just learned of it the other day. The website has minimal info. Is it worth a 2 hour drive?

We will definitely hit the Feb. show at Rosemont, also. But, probably pass on the McCormick Place show.

I don't think you understand there is now like three rv shows. The one downtown Chicago is primarily the boat show. Then there is the Feruary one at Rosemont. And I just saw a commercial for this one here in Schaumburg in Jnauary. http://www.greaterchicagorvshow.com/

I am planning on going to the one in Rosemont but I'll be in Schaumburg the weekend of this one (my wife's Christmas present is a date at Medevil Times on the 14th) so thought why not make a day of it.
