Gurgling Refrigerator

We have moved into a 1998 Monaco with a Norcold 1200LRIM refrigerator. It gurgles almost constantly. Is this a sign of a lack of coolant or any other need for servicing?

I have read all the horror stories about Norcold and their recalls, so let's please not go there. I'm just interested in that particular symptom.
