I winterized a couple days ago, but only because we took our Outback back to the dealer to get the front cap repainted. They said it would probably take 1 week, but decided if it did take longer, I'd be safe in winterizing. So if by chance, it just happened to dip cold, I would not have to worry about anything. So, we have no more trips planned until Christmas week (Florida). But when we get it back, it goes back in our driveway and we fire everything back up (except water) and still enjoy sleeping in it every night.
Pink stuff took 2 gallons, less than 5 dollars. Took 10 minutes. I'll winterize again enroute back from Florida before New Year. Winterizing does not mean "the end", it just means "I'm protected" (if)!
So don't think of witerizing as the "end" of your camping season. Consider it a "protection" to ensure you have a good camping season next year!
And nothing says you can't take your "winterized" camper camping in the "winter" either. We do. We just revert back to the tenting days using a port-a-potty and carrying our own water in an external jug. Still have the comfort of warmth, a nice bed, and electricity. But pipes are filled with "pink stuff".
So ... look forward ... not backward!
