Had to give up rving

I told Dad when he no longer felt comfortable, I would tow his trailer and park it where he wants, even drive him if needed. He is slowing down now that he has to take his wife (she had stroke and needs someone with her). She doesn't like to get out as much as he does.

No one know what they'll do in situations like this, but a strong will (preserverance, not the written one, lol) goes a long way.

Yep, it sure snuck up. One day I was in, what I felt, perfect health. The next day I wind up on the floor of my RV and had to yell until a neighbor heard me and called paramedics. I'm glad he was in hearing distance. I still laid on the floor quirte a while before I yelled for help. I kept trying to get up, but that proved futile. Left side was paralyzed. If I got help sooner, I would have been better off today. At least my left leg is useful, but I walk with difficulty, using a quad cane. The left arm is still useless, but therapy is having some small effect.

Thanks for mentioning Escapees. If I recall, I was on their forum some years ago, but decided to spend more of my time here. I know they have a program where an RVer can stay at their facility in TX, I think it's Livingston. I've already made arrangements with an extended stay hotel in Tucson, since I've spent many a winter in southern AZ and love the weather. I will keep the Escapees Arrangement in mind, though.

Sorry to hear this. They day I can no longer tow or setup is the day I go seasonal somewhere and let my wife drive me.

Before I saw your post, I was thinking, they need and Ending RVing forum for those of us who still hang on, but who just can't do it anymore.

Sorry to hear of your health issues Mr Ed. 6 years ago at age 57, I was sidelined with a heart attack which ruptured my heart. After 2 years of storage I reluctantly sold out truck and trailer because I couldn't keep them up any longer. After a 2 year hiatus, we bought our new to us 2008 Class C and began the adventure again. Sadly, this June my bride of 42 years developed a tumor in her spinal cord which has once again taken us out of camping this summer. I am hanging on to reservations we have at the beach in a week in the hopes that she will be able to make the trip and gather enough comfort to enjoy one more trip. We will see what surgery and her recovery is over the winter so we once again can enjoy our cabin on wheels. You will be kept in our prayers.
