Half ton to three quarter....... Worth it?
Have an awesome truck. Born to pull and does great at it. It's a 4X4 Chevy Silverado, 1500, crew cab short box. My trailer is 8500 lbs and the family of four, plus two 100 lb dogs, plus a truck canopy...

If you go with a 3500 (or F350) you'll never have to purchase another truck again to tow anything! You can tow a large boat to a large 5er. Who knows what your future has. Plan big now for a really "hefty" truck and then you have options without any constraints what you tow with it! Who know what good things will come in your future! Plan now ... enjoy later! I guarantee you, a 3500 or F350 ... towing your current trailer ... even in the mountains,.... you'll NEVER know the trailer is behind you! (find one with an integrated brake controller ... whatever size you get ... you'll never be disappointed with that either!)
