Half ton to three quarter....... Worth it?
Have an awesome truck. Born to pull and does great at it. It's a 4X4 Chevy Silverado, 1500, crew cab short box. My trailer is 8500 lbs and the family of four, plus two 100 lb dogs, plus a truck canopy...

Only worth it if you need it. From reading the forum, I think most will say you are just beyond the line for half ton and will enjoy the cushion instead of being at the max.
I'm towing similar conditions to you except that my trailer is 5300 dry and creeping on 7k loaded. I'm completely comfortable with our setup, but I do watch carefully what goes in the truck bed. Easy to do since the trailer has so much payload.
