Half ton to three quarter....... Worth it?

Here are my thoughts. We started out with a 2008 GMC 1500 crewcab 5.3 4x4, nice truck and did the job but I was exhausted on longer days of towing with it. Then we traded for a 2011 Silverado 2500HD crew cab 6.0 4x4, huge difference. Long days of towing were very comfortable. Now we are without camper (temporary) due to storm damage, but in preparation we now have a 2015.5 GMC 3500HD crew cab Duramax 4x4. I've never regretted getting a larger, more capable truck for towing, and the newer ones ride very nice even empty.
