Half ton to three quarter....... Worth it?
Have an awesome truck. Born to pull and does great at it. It's a 4X4 Chevy Silverado, 1500, crew cab short box. My trailer is 8500 lbs and the family of four, plus two 100 lb dogs, plus a truck canopy...

IMO, the 3/4 ton is a much better towing experience than a 1/2 ton. In 2004, we bought a '99 Suburban with the 7.4L engine and 3.73 gears. We then bought the TT in my signature that weighs 6,000 lbs. fully loaded. It towed like a champ. Then I bought a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9L engine. It towed the TT OK, but nothing like the 'Burb.
When my wife wanted a small car, the debate was which vehicle to trade in. I thought about it, and decided I would keep the 'Burb as my daily driver and trade in the truck. Never regretted the decision.
