I could teach you enough to pass the Technician Class test in about four hours.
The requirements have been "dumbed-down" many times since the early 1960s.
When I took the test in 1956, I had to draw schematic diagrams of transmitter circuits, describe how they worked and the proper way of adjusting those circuits.
e.g.
1. Draw a schematic diagram of a crystal controlled oscillator intended for harmonic output.
2. Where is the feedback path in this circuit?
3. Draw a schematic diagram of a push-pull amplifier using triode vacuum tubes intended for straight through operation.
4. Describe the neutralization procedure for this amplifier.

There are very few people who have earned BSEEs within the last 30 years who could pass that test.
The requirement for the code test was dropped about ten years ago, so when I am talking with someone on the low end of 20M, I know he/she has been around for a while.
