I never did party much. Worked more than I can remember, too. Driving bus in Vancouver, I was often working nights (by choice) and new years eve was just another night. Not a holiday.
I am happier now than I have ever been. I am with someone that is as much a gypsy as I am. We live in a fabulous part of Canada, and we take flight often. In fact, tomorrow we head out for 7 weeks of just wandering.
And..like many...I drink and eat less. Not so much by choice..I'm full quicker. At 68 I run out of zoom zoom quicker. Have less patience for people.. I was never blessed with a lot, anyway.
If you have read this far....lets hope that 2019 is a good memory, come 2020.
I read this the other day and thought...I want to be this.
"Another time my dad gave a guy 50 bucks who said he had to buy medicine for his sick kid. I told my dad he was probably lying and was going to spend the money on booze, drugs or something. My dad said that "whether he was lying or not says something about HIS character, but hearing someone in need and choosing not to help when I have the means, says something about mine."
I never forgot that.
