Hard to Believe..Terrible QC

This morning I'm looking at the door on the refrigerator in my Forest River 19RR Toy Hauler. The decorative wood front panel never fit properly. It was cut just a bit to small and pops out of the channel that holds it.

I realized that the edge molding on the door simply pops off and the panel can be slid out.

When I removed the panel I saw that the factory used a bunch of tooth picks to prop up the too small panel and hold it in place.

The toothpicks moved and and the panel dropped down a bit.

Simply amazing that they can't even cut a simple panel to the correct size.

And we pay big $$ for this ****!

  • Absolutely not the only issue. Although I've experienced zero performance issues, the way they cut holes for tail lights to the garbage, wood sawdust, cigarette butts and other trash behind the heater, electric panel, etc.

Why do they use inferior plastic bushings in the suspension that failed within 1500 miles of use. And I replaced with a superior aftermarket system with greaseable bronze bushings for a bit over $100. Why isn't this system used from the factory?

Why does the plaque on the side of the trailer say 15" wheels and tires and my trailer was delivered with 14"?

Why do the specs say 45g fresh water but the tank only holds 30 (Forest River agreed to send me the proper tant but there is no way to retrofit without tearing the whole trailer apart. The idiot on the assembly line must have grabbed the wrong tank.....)

When I reconfigured the storage area at the front of the camper, less than 50% of the screws securing the bed hit a stud. The rest simply were into 1/8" paneling.

This week I reversed both the closet door and the bathroom door. Why on God's green earth they opened into the living area instead of the bedroom, I'll never know.

Why is the subwoofer for the 5 channel surround sound right over the bed in the bedroom!!!! Want to watch TV with spouse sleeping.....Yea, that will be a good idea! I installed a switch to shut it off.

I've modified dozens of little things. Who is designing these things. Do they ever actually camp in them?

    Ugh!
  • As long as we keep buying junk, they will continue to make junk.

If that's the only quality problem you have, you're lucky.
